What I mean by that is you have to ensure you eat a very healthy, filling, and energy boosting breakfast to start your day off.
The reason for this is twofold.
One, by starting your day off right, you are more likely to continue making healthy decisions later in the day.
Second, because you ate a healthy, filling, and energy boosting meal, this amazing feeling is something that most people don't want to lose… and that will lead to avoiding bad foods. The reason why is simply because eating those bad foods are a surefire way to REMOVE that amazing feeling in a heartbeat through sugar crashes, bloating, etc.!
An example of a healthy, filling, and energy boosting breakfast could be something like a bowl of steel-cut oatmeal with crushed almonds and blueberries!
Another power breakfast could be 3 egg whites with 1 whole egg scrambled, 2 servings of fresh fruit, 1 slice of Ezekiel bread, and place one tablespoon of almond butter on the bread. This meal is LOADED with all sorts of important nutrients!
2. Go to the DARK SIDE (insert evil laugh here)…
Another tip I recommend if you are constantly struggling with craving bad foods, is to shift your mindset as quickly as possible.
Basically, what I mean by this is when you look at or smell bad food, the obvious first reaction is “oh man, that smells or good”, or “oh man, that looks good”. But, what I recommend for you to do instead of looking at the positive, look at the dark side (negative) of bad foods.
So, in other words, the next time you crave a pizza for example, instead of thinking about how delicious it's going to taste and how amazing it smells, think about all that nasty grease dripping off the cheese, think about what that pizza is doing to your arteries, think about how bloated you are going to feel later, etc. Works like a charm!
3. Decrease stress as much as possible…
The reason why is because for most of us, stress is a very common trigger for craving bad foods and drinks. So, what I recommend for you to do is to do some things that will lower your stress levels.
Some of the things I recommend you do are deep breathing exercises, regular exercises (of course), massages, chamomile tea before bed, decreasing caffeine as much as possible, etc.
If you combine those tips above, you'll find yourself WANTING to eat healthy instead of indulging on bad foods… as impossible as that may sound right now!
