  • Vaginal Atrophy: This occurs when your body lacks sufficient estrogen, leading to the vagina becoming thin and inflamed. Painful sexual intercourse is often a symptom of vaginal atrophy, which is common post-menopause and may increase the risk of urinary tract infections.
  • Blisters or Bumps on the Outer Vagina: Presence of these could be a symptom of vulvar or vaginal cancer. Sometimes, these bumps may change color, harden or develop into a lesion, indicating a sexually transmitted disease (STD) like herpes.
  • Pain During Urination: Experiencing pain while urinating could be a sign of a yeast or bacterial infection, or STDs like genital herpes and chlamydia.

The best way to prevent or treat any ill-health is by fostering a healthy environment. A balance of a good diet and personal hygiene can effectively prevent the overgrowth of organisms contributing to vaginal ill-health.

Maintaining vaginal health should be a priority for all women, just like any other body part. Given its proximity to the anus and exposure to urination, it's vital to prevent bacteria buildup.

Keeping the vagina clean by thoroughly washing it, including the labia folds where bacteria accumulates quickly, can help. Additionally, leading a stress-free life and maintaining a healthy diet can contribute to a balanced vagina and ward off infections.
