Do you worry about what other people think of you, or worry about upsetting them? Do you focus nearly all your time on trying to make other people happy and worry that they are not? In other words, do you worry about everyone else?
If so, it’s time to shift your focus to yourself and stop worrying about everyone else, especially if the things you worry about don’t even concern you. We have a finite amount of energy, and worrying about others takes away the energy you should be devoting to yourself.
Sometimes you have to be selfish for the sake of your own wellbeing. You have to stop wasting your time on other people’s nonsense and drama, and in reality, their dramas are probably not your concern anyway.
You also need to stop wasting your energy trying to fit in and be liked by everyone. It doesn't matter what other people think of you. People will always have opinions of other people and of you. It just doesn’t matter what they think. It’s time to start living for yourself.
Do What You Want In Life, Not What Others Want You To Do
Think about what you really want in life. What are your choices in regards to a career and relationships? Are you making the right choices for yourself, or are they because they will please someone else?
You need to do the things you want to do. You need to have a strong grasp of who you are. Without a strong sense of self, it is easy to get caught up building a life around what others want you to be.
When you know who you are, you start making choices based on what you like or don’t like, not because it will impress or please someone else.
Keep Things In Perspective
Everyone’s mind is occupied with millions of different things. This includes the people you worry about. The ones you think are talking about you or judging you. They are probably not paying much if any, attention to you at all. They don’t have time to think about what you are doing 24/7. Even if they did, who cares! You definitely shouldn’t be. So stop worrying about what they think about you.

Stop Comparing Yourself To Others
Self-doubt and worry can be turned around if you can stop comparing yourself to others. You need to keep busy looking after your own garden so that you don’t have the time to be looking over the fence into your neighbor’s yard. So stop comparing! You will only start looking for the faults, which will make you feel worse and discourage you.
Everyone has their own place, their own likes, their own opinions. Don’t make their problems your problems, or your problems theirs.
Don't Try To Please Everyone
Sometimes you may worry about letting other people down because you care, and that can be a good thing. However, it’s just impossible to live up to the expectations of everyone around you, so don’t beat yourself up. You can’t make everyone else happy.
When you try to please everybody, you sacrifice your own values, and it prevents you from finding happiness for yourself. Remember that it’s normal to have disappointments, and that’s not a failure on your part, it’s just part of life.
Set Up Emotional Boundaries
When you constantly worry about everyone else, you may find it hard to say no. If you are constantly saying yes, you are in fact putting their needs before your own. Set firm emotional boundaries. These are the limits you set for other people’s behavior. This is important, especially if people have developed a habit to come to you whenever they have problems. They drain you of all your emotional energy.
When you absorb other people’s stress, it can escalate yours and you can become far more stressed than they are. Instead of being the worrier, just listen. Let them figure things out on their own.
When you worry too much about what other people think about you, you tend to forget to enjoy the little things in your life. So set the worries aside and start to focus on the people that make you happy.
Plus, more importantly, it’s time to mind your own business. People will love you, some will not, but that’s out of your control. Live your life according to your own terms, make your own choices, and take responsibility for whatever you do. It’s your life, and you only have one, so make it the best you can!
